Fair Work Commission grants 3% increase

The Fair Work Commission has granted award-reliant workers a 3% increase which means the national minimum wage increases by $21.60 a week or 57 cents an hour to $740.80 – or $19.49 an hour.

The increase is effective on and from the first pay period to commence 1 July.

The ACTU had argued for a 6% increase, the ACCI called for the Commission to order no more than a 1.8% increase and the Australian Industry Group sought a 2% increase.
